Technical Director @ QoS Design
Sami Baraketi is the technical director of QoS Design. He received his engineering degree in telecommunications networks from the Higher School of Communication of Tunis (SUP’COM) in 2011, and his PhD degree in optical networks engineering from Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse III) in 2015. His Ph.D. was carried out in the framework of cooperation between LAAS-CNRS research laboratory and QoS Design, and focused on routing optimization and resource allocation in fiber-based networks.
In 2011, he joined QoS Design as an R&D engineer in charge of the company’s software solution NEST OPTICS (Network Engineering and Simulation Tool). His research experience covers fiber-based networks engineering, topology design, routing, resource allocation, planning, network re-optimization and others. He developed several efficient and original algorithms for the planning tool NEST. In 2017, he became the technical director of the company. He was in charge of the study, design and development of QoS Design software solutions for DWDM/SDH/FTTx optical network planning and supervision. His professional career includes management of several R&D and industrial projects with EADS, Tunisie-Telecom, Tunisian Government, ZTE KSA and Algeria, SPL-RIN Toulouse Metropole, Thales Alenia Space, etc. He obtained, with QoS Design FTTx solution, the first innovation award in Tunisia in the context of the national innovation competition held in 2014.
